Getting Supplies – Timers

The lighting setup on your marijuana plants is very important. During the vegetative state you will need a lot more light then you will when the dope plants are in the flowering state. It’s rather difficult for you to always be there to turn the lights on and off. Using a timer can make things a lot easier and timers are definitely a great investment if you plan on growing weed plants.

Timers

You can get timers for different reasons. Not only can you set up a timer for your lights but you can also set one up for the water pump in your hydroponic system to continuously distribute the nutrients as well.

Assuming you have lights set up under 400 watts each then you should purchase a grounded timer which is at least 600 watts or more. It should be a heavy duty timer and at least ten to fifteen amps as well. One of these timers could be found in a hardware store for around $25. If you are running at least a 600 watt light then the timer should be at least 800 watts and 12-15 amps. If you have a 1000 watt light then the timer should be at least 1400 watts and 15 amps.

You will likely not have to pay any more than $50 for a reliable timer. It’s suggested that you use a timer meant for outside in your hydroponic system. This works well for your dope plants but you can use an indoor timer. The outdoor models are preferred for your marijuana plants room though.
