Lamp Sizes

There are a lot of different sizes of lights that you can use for growing marijuana plants. You can get lights that sit anywhere from 50w to 1000w but the type of light that you buy and your growing area setup play a major role in what lights and wattages are the best choice for you. Different types of lights will come in different wattages and the strength of the light doesn’t necessarily just depend on the wattage.

Wattages

Metal halide lamps come in various sizes between 175w and 1000w. High pressure sodium lamps come in various sizes between 50w and 1000w. Of which, will work sufficiently with a 400w high pressure sodium ballast. Every light will need a ballast of its’ own and most of the time will be included with the lamps but can be purchased separately. Son Argo lamps come in various sizes between 170w and 1000w.

Depending on the stage of the marijuana plants growth you may need a different wattage of light. At some parts of the growing period you will need a stronger light than others. The vegetative and flowering stages of the marijuana plants growth will definitely use a slightly different light to make sure that the marijuana plants grow healthily.
