Setting Up Marijuana Growing Lights

Lighting is definitely one of the most important parts of growing marijuana plants. Besides water the marijuana plants definitely won’t live without sufficient lighting. If you are growing the weed plants inside then you are going to have to go out of your way to purchase some good marijuana growing lights. Some people will state that you can purchase a cheap light and use it but others may say it is not strong enough. Usually people will recommend that you use fluorescent lights but the cost can be quite a bit. There are a lot of options for grow lights but once you figure out what one to get you also have to be careful how you set them up.

Setting up the Grow Lights

The best thing to do is hang the lights from the ceiling and have them about two inches above the soil. The fluorescent lights can easily be set up with chains so it shouldn’t be much of a problem creating something to suspend the lights above the soil. There are certain steps you could take to make sure that you get the best results from your lighting. If you use a long fluorescent light then you can light multiple plants with it. If you are using a different type of light then you may need to space the lights a bit.

As the plant starts to grow you will obviously have to continue moving the light up so it does not get in the way. You never want to have the light too close to the plant because it could burn the marijuana leaves. Keep the light at least two inches away from the closest part of the plant at least at all times if possible. However, make sure that you don’t move it too far away either because some of the light won’t be used on helping the plant. The amount of time that you have the lights on for matters as well. You could have the lights on for a different amount of time depending on what stage the plants are in so you have to read up on the best timing methods for the marijuana growing lights.
