How Ozone Works

Ozone is very strong and can remove or modify the odor in large environments. After thunderstorms the smell outside is caused by ozone. The smell near waterfalls is caused by ozone. When you’re growing marijuana plants you can also mask your dope plants odor with ozone by using an ozone generator. The main issue with ozone is that the life cycle is short.

Sterilant

Ozone is a very strong sterilizer and kills bacteria, odors, and everything else with oxidation and this leads to the extra oxygen atom being removed from the ozone and leaving just normal air in the area. The only thing left after ozone attacks the area will be normal oxygen.

Production

Ozone is produced through two different methods. One is through corona discharge which basically means that it is a result of lightning. The other method is through ultraviolet fluorescent light tubes.

Life

Ozone will only live for about 30 minutes and if there is a lot to fight then it will die a lot faster then it usually would. Ozone could die within seconds if there are a lot of pollutants in the area.

Ozone Generators

This is the best method to control the odor in your grow room. When ozone is sent out from the generator and connects with an odor the extra atom from the ozone will join with the bad odor and eliminate the smell. If the ozone generator is good it will be able to eliminate the worst odors from a stinky crop but won’t get rid of the smell of a fresh vase of flowers.

Safety

The last thing to look at is the safety of using ozone. Various people have permitted using ozone with the concentration set at 0.1ppm for up to eight hours and not having any negative symptoms from doing so. Usually ozone generators in your home only produce half that (.05ppm) so it’s not an issue to worry about. Ozone generators are a safe and effective method for you to help get rid of the odor in your grow room.
