Lighting for Marijuana Plants

The lighting while growing marijuana plants is very important. You will have to make sure that you buy a strong enough light to grow the marijuana with because a normal light bulb doesn’t cut it. There are only certain lights that will work for doing this. Keep in mind that your electricity/lighting bill could go up quite a bit because of this. The amount of time that the lights will have to be on for the marijuana plants to grow healthily can vary by answer but generally you should get the plants under the light for a minimum of eight hours every single day.

Lighting

If you increase the amount of time that the marijuana plants are under the light then they will start to grow faster and probably yield more female than male plants. The most common times for lights to be on for the marijuana plants are either 16 hours on and 8 hours off or 18 hours on and 6 hours off. After you pass this amount of time with the lights on the weed plants the quality gain from doing so will be nonexistent. Another good thing you can do is startle the plants with an hour or so of light in the middle of the night if you can because this could help yield more female weed plants. The lights can also burn the marijuana a bit in certain areas if you have the lights too close or you use certain types of lights.

Make sure that you research the various types of marijuana growing lights or lamps that you can use and buy one that will be effective. Take care of your crop and make sure they get enough light and water and don’t die.
