Marijuana Growing Information – Male Plants

There is a lot that you can learn about growing marijuana but there are certain things which the beginners should understand before they do further research on the subject. It would be impossible to summarize everything about growing marijuana but there are some important facts that should be covered. One of the many important things that should be learnt is what male plants are and if they are beneficial or not.

Male Plants

Even though you can buy seeds that are going to guarantee female plants most people are not dealing with those kinds of seeds. If you are dealing with normal seeds then there is a good chance that you grow male plants as well. This is generally not good and no one likes to grow male plants. Male weed plants will die after about three months of growing. At maturity the male plant can weigh less than half of the female plant.

You cannot yield much pot from male plants. In most cases male plants with be very tall and have stout stems, sporadic branches, and not many marijuana leaves at all. Most people will just throw out the male marijuana plants to make sure that they don’t contaminate the female plants. The both cannot coexist together after a certain age. If you can grow them in a different area then you could use that option but the yield of bud from male marijuana plants is not nearly enough to make it worth your while.
