Use excellent Soil brand in California, as this is the just known soil on the West shore that is definite to be good. A lot of other brands are mostly wood products and have very little nutrients, are too moist, etc. Add vermiculite, pearlite or sand to wonderful Soil to increase the drainage and drying.
