Types of Light Movers

Light movers come in two different designs. You can purchase a rail system light mover which is powered by a motor or a light mover which rotates your grow lights in circles and compares to how your ceiling fan operates. Both can efficiently distribute the light to your marijuana plants but one would be better for certain situations.

Designs

The light mover which works circularly is suggested for areas which have a squared growing area. This would mean the room size is 2x2, 4x4, 8x8, and etc. If your cannabis plants are growing in a long and narrow area then the rail method would be preferred. You can usually purchase rail light movers with customized length so you can make sure all your weed plants get light covered over them.

The choice you make of what type of light mover should be based on the shape of your growing area. The wattage of the lights will also play a factor in how long the rail should be if you choose that method. The coverage ranges from three to four feet of rail for a 250w grow light to ten to twelve feet of rail for a 1000w light.

Usually the cost for a light mover is around $200-400 and you can purchase them online. You can have more than one light on most of the light movers. This is a good option when growing marijuana plants if you want to minimize the electricity bill but it may not be feasible for everyone as it may be out of budget.
