Why Curing Marijuana Buds is Important

After you harvest your marijuana plants you will have to spend about one to two weeks waiting for the dope plants to dry out completely assuming they are drying in a room with a non-harmful temperature and humidity. If the stem of the buds snaps instead of folds once bent that’s a sign that the marijuana is completely dried. It would help it you smoked a little bud (under half a gram) to see if it’s dried enough to be used or not. Usually within a week or two the small buds will be dry no matter what but the big buds will need to be cured in order to be fully dried.

Curing

This is the process where the buds are slowly dried to make sure the buds hold the strongest potency possible and taste good. You can remove the small buds from the drying room within a week or so in most cases but you will have to leave the big buds for a longer drying period.

Curing your marijuana plants will take at least one or two weeks. The idea behind curing is not just to maximize the potency and get the best taste but to make sure that mold won’t show up if the weed gets stored for a while. A slow dry process for your dope plants can also make sure the inactive THC gets changed over to active THC so the potency is as strong as possible.
