Growing Media - Coir
Coir is a type of growing media that can be used in a hydroponic system setup for your marijuana plants. This medium is also referred to as “coco peat” and “coco” sometimes. Coir is essentially the remains that exist when all the fibre in the furthest out shell (called the “bolster”) is removed from a coconut.
Coir
Coir is fully natural and with that in mind is a preferred growing media for some people that want to keep everything natural. However coir is not necessarily a great option for people growing weed plants. There have been some issues of coir causing nutrients to get locked out and not able to feed the weed plants roots. If coir really does block part of the plant food you supply then that could be a major issue.
Some people do use coir and have no issues with doing so. If you want to make sure you have no issues when growing your cannabis plants you might want to stick to something that is better known for being a good growing medium. If you do choose to use coir then you should make sure that you carefully monitor the pH levels and make sure choosing coir won’t play a major role in how they fluctuate. Your pH levels play a major role in how your ganja plants grow.
