Alternative to Transplanting Marijuana Plants
A lot of the time a marijuana plant will outgrow the current growing pot so it will need to be transplanted into a bigger pot. There are many issues with this and the main one is probably that there is a chance of the marijuana plant getting injured or dying while it is being transplanted. It can also take a little while for the weed plant to recover from the transplant and can temporarily stop the plant from growing as well.
Alternative
You could use a Jiffy Pot instead if you don’t want to have to transplant your marijuana plants into new containers. Jiffy pots are created from compressed peat moss which can be planted directly into soil that is moist. After a little while it will decompose and then let the root system go through the walls. The other container you are using will need to be able to hold at least around 3 gallons. Marijuana plants are unhealthy if the roots are cramped up into a small space so you have to make sure that there is enough room in the container for the rooting system of the weed plant.
The concept behind the Jiffy pots and similar designs is that the marijuana plant can grow pretty big and transplanting a large marijuana plant can be very dangerous. If you prepare the marijuana plant so it can grow bigger and not need to be transplanted than that can be very helpful. Usually the smaller marijuana plants can transplant into a new container within a few weeks though. Make sure that you are keeping an eye on the weed plants after about a week so you can make sure that the roots of the plant don’t get tangled up because it can lead to bad growth.
